Frequently asked questions
How do I extract images from a PDF?
Upload your PDF and click Extract Images. The tool scans every page, pulls out each embedded photo, logo and graphic, and shows them as thumbnails with their page number and size. Download any image on its own, or grab them all at once as a ZIP file.
What format are the extracted images?
Images are exported as PNG files, which every viewer, editor and website accepts. PNG is lossless, so the extracted image keeps the full quality stored inside the PDF.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
Yes. A scanned PDF is essentially one big image per page, and each scanned page image is extracted just like any other embedded image.
Why does my PDF show no images?
Some PDFs contain only vector drawings and text — lines, shapes and fonts rather than embedded photos. Those pages have no image objects to extract, so the tool correctly reports zero images. Try a PDF with photos or scanned pages.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The tool runs entirely in your browser with pdf.js. Your file never leaves your device.
Can I extract images from only some pages?
Every extracted image is labelled with the page it came from, so you can download just the ones you need. If you want a smaller PDF first, use Extract PDF Pages to keep only the pages you care about, then extract images from that file.
