How to Delete Pages from a PDF
Short answer: To delete pages from a PDF for free, open TheEditPDF's Delete Pages tool, select your PDF, click the pages you want to remove, and download the cleaned file. Your file never leaves your device, there is nothing to install, and you do not need an account. Your original PDF stays untouched on your device, so you can always start over if you change your mind.
Almost every PDF collects a few pages you do not need: a blank page left over from a scan, a duplicated sheet, a cover page from a template, or a chapter that no longer belongs in the document. Deleting those pages makes the file cleaner, smaller and easier to share — and you do not need expensive software to do it.
With TheEditPDF's free Delete Pages tool, you remove pages right in your browser. Your file never leaves your device, there is nothing to install, and you do not need an account. The whole job usually takes less than a minute.
What you need: just the PDF file and a modern browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari, on a computer or a phone. There is no file-size hoop to jump through for everyday documents, and no waiting for an upload to finish.
Step by step
- Open the Delete Pages tool — Click the button below to open the free tool. It works in any modern browser on desktop or mobile — no download and no signup.
- Choose your PDF — Select the PDF file from your device. The tool opens it locally in your browser, so your document is never uploaded to a server.
- Select the pages to remove — You will see a thumbnail for every page. Click the pages you want to delete — blank pages, duplicates, or anything you no longer need — and check the selection once before continuing.
- Download the new PDF — Click to build the cleaned file and download it. Your original PDF stays untouched on your device, so you can always start over if you change your mind.
Tips for a better result
- Check page numbers first. If your PDF has printed page numbers, compare them with the thumbnails so you delete exactly the right pages.
- Keep the original until you are sure. Download the cleaned file, open it once to confirm, and only then replace the old version.
- Deleting pages also shrinks the file. Every removed page takes its images and text with it, so a trimmed PDF is often noticeably smaller.
- Scanned PDFs work too. Deletion works at the page level, so it does not matter whether a page contains text or a scanned image.
- Name the cleaned file clearly. Save it with a suffix such as “-cleaned” so you never confuse it with the original later.

Frequently asked questions
Does deleting pages reduce the file size?
Yes. Each removed page takes its content with it, so the resulting PDF is proportionally smaller. For a big cut, combine this with the Compress tool.
Will my original file be changed?
No. The download is a brand-new file, and your original stays exactly as it was. If you deleted the wrong page, just run the tool again on the original.
Can I delete pages from a scanned PDF?
Yes. Page deletion does not depend on text content, so scanned pages delete just as cleanly as typed ones.
Can I delete several pages at once?
Yes. Select as many pages as you like in one pass — there is no need to repeat the process page by page.
Is it really free and private?
Yes. The tool is free with no account, and because everything runs in your browser, your file is never uploaded anywhere.
Can I delete the first or last page?
Yes — any page can go, including the cover, the final page, or a blank page at the end left over from printing.

1. The short version
TheEditPDF does not collect, store, or see your files. Every tool runs entirely inside your web browser, on your own device. When you choose a PDF, it is read by JavaScript running locally — it is never uploaded to our servers, because we do not operate file-processing servers at all.
2. What we do not collect
- Your documents: PDFs, images, and spreadsheets you process never leave your device. We have no way to access them.
- Accounts: there is no signup and no login, so we hold no usernames, passwords, or profile data.
- File contents: text you extract, signatures you draw, and redactions you make exist only in your browser tab's memory until you download the result.
3. What is collected automatically
Like almost every website, our hosting provider (Vercel) may log basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and pages visited, for security and reliability. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising trackers, or fingerprinting scripts of our own. If that ever changes, this policy will be updated first.
4. Third-party libraries
TheEditPDF loads open-source JavaScript libraries (for example pdf.js and pdf-lib) from public content delivery networks (CDNs). Those CDNs may see a standard request for the library file, exactly as when any site loads a font or script. They do not receive your documents.
5. Children
TheEditPDF is a general-purpose utility not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no personal information from anyone.
6. Your control
Because files never reach us, there is nothing to request, correct, or delete on our side. Clearing your browser data removes any trace of your session from your device.
7. Changes to this policy
If we materially change how TheEditPDF handles information, we will update the date above and describe the change here.
8. Contact
Questions about this policy can be sent through the contact details published on the TheEditPDF homepage.

1. What TheEditPDF is
TheEditPDF provides free, browser-based PDF tools — editing, signing, merging, converting, and more. The tools are offered "as is", without warranties of any kind, and may be changed or discontinued at any time.
2. How the tools work
All processing happens locally in your browser using open-source libraries. No file is uploaded to our servers. Because everything runs on your device, results depend on your browser and device capabilities.
3. Acceptable use
- Use TheEditPDF only on documents you own or are authorized to modify.
- Do not use the tools to forge signatures, falsify documents, remove watermarks or copyright notices you have no right to remove, or facilitate wrongdoing.
- Redaction in TheEditPDF burns black boxes into a flattened copy of each page; always verify the downloaded file before sharing sensitive documents.
- Password removal ("Unlock PDF") only works on files you are legally entitled to open, and it converts pages to images.
4. Signatures
Electronic signatures created with TheEditPDF are simple electronic marks, not certified digital signatures. Whether they are legally valid depends on your jurisdiction and the agreement between the parties — for high-stakes contracts, consult a lawyer.
5. Intellectual property
The TheEditPDF name, design, and original text on this site belong to its creator. The underlying processing libraries (pdf.js, pdf-lib, and others) remain the property of their respective open-source authors under their licenses.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TheEditPDF and its creator are not liable for any loss arising from use of the tools — including corrupted files, failed conversions, or documents shared with incomplete redactions. Always keep backups of important originals.
7. Changes
We may update these terms at any time; continued use of the site after changes means you accept them.
